BAGHDAD – Yasin Safwan – Russian media quoted a statement from the Russian Foreign Minister as saying: “With the President of Russia to negotiate on Ukraine, preparations have not changed.”

He added: “We will always be ready to listen to proposals from our Western partners, which aim less, if realistic proposals are directed to us, based on the principles of equality and respect for each other’s interests. Finding compromises and balancing the interests of all countries, of course, we Let’s stick with it like we’ve always done in the past.”

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “the willingness of the United States to listen to the concerns of the Russian Federation could give way to dialogue between the leaderships of the two countries.”

In a statement to the Russian “Sputnik” news agency, he added that “problems related to Russia’s security can become a starting point for dialogue between President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Joe Biden.”
