The two sides “discussed several important files, especially Iraq’s relations with its neighbors, as well as with Turkey and Iran, the issue of ending the Syrian crisis through dialogue, a political solution leading to stabilization and the return of Syria to its place in the League of Arab States.”

“Iraq faces many challenges and needs a united Arab effort to overcome them,” Hussein stressed.

For his part, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States “congratulated the minister for establishing a new government and renewing confidence in him as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq and praised Iraq’s role in promoting joint Arab action and the League supports Iraq with all its aspirations.”
