Abdul Nafi Thakur, a spokesman for Afghanistan’s interior ministry, said Wednesday that an explosion hit a mosque in Kabul near the heavily guarded interior ministry compound.

Thakur added, “The mosque is visited by worshipers and home ministry personnel at times.”
